MARINE Polishing Compound

LEADA M2 MARINE MEDIUM CUT

Product Name: LEADA M2 MARINE MEDIUM CUT

Model: M2

Product Type: Marine Grade Medium Cut Polishing Compound

Application: Step 2 Polishing – Marine Gelcoat, Topcoat, Clearcoat & Fiberglass Surfaces

Product Description

LEADA M2 MARINE MEDIUM CUT is a professional marine-grade polishing compound specifically engineered as the Step 2 polishing solution for boat hulls, yachts, and all types of watercraft. Designed to fit seamlessly into a three-step marine polishing system, it is formulated to refine surfaces after heavy cutting (Step 1), effectively removing P1000–P2000 sanding marks, light oxidation, micro-swirls, and holograms left by the initial compounding step.

This white, smooth paste formula delivers balanced medium cutting power combined with exceptional high-gloss finishing capabilities, making it ideal for marine manufacturing, routine maintenance, and restoration projects. It works safely and effectively on all marine-grade coatings, including gelcoat, polyester topcoat, polyurethane clearcoat, and fiberglass surfaces—common materials in marine vessel construction.

Engineered with a marine-specific high-lubricity base, the compound breaks down uniformly during application, producing minimal dust and wiping off cleanly without leaving streaks or residues. It prepares surfaces perfectly for Step 3 high-gloss finishing or the application of marine wax, sealant, or ceramic coating, ensuring long-lasting protection against saltwater, UV rays, and harsh marine environments. Suitable for professional marine detailers, boat yards, and marine manufacturing facilities, it delivers consistent, reliable results for all marine polishing needs.

Key Features & Benefits

Step 2 Specialized Formula: Optimized for the second stage of a full marine polishing system, bridging the gap between heavy cutting (Step 1) and final finishing (Step 3).

Balanced Medium Cutting Power: Effectively removes P1000–P2000 sanding marks, light oxidation, micro-swirls, and holograms, without over-cutting delicate marine coatings.

White Smooth Paste: Easy to apply and spread evenly across large marine surfaces, with minimal dust production and clean wipe-off for efficient workflow.

Marine-Coat Compatible: Safe for use on gelcoat, polyester topcoat, polyurethane clearcoat, fiberglass, and all marine painted hulls, without causing damage or discoloration.

High-Gloss Preparation: Delivers a uniform, high-clarity pre-finish that ensures optimal results for subsequent Step 3 polishing or protective treatments.

Machine Friendly: Works seamlessly with both rotary and dual-action (DA) marine polishers, adapting to different polishing techniques and surface sizes.

Silicone-Free & Body Shop Safe: Suitable for marine production workshops, refinish environments, and post-polishing treatments, ensuring permanent, long-lasting results.

Recommended Usage (Step 2 Polishing)

1. Surface Preparation: Ensure the marine surface is clean, dry, and free of salt, dirt, oil, and heavy compound residues from Step 1 (heavy cutting). Remove any loose debris or contaminants to ensure optimal polishing results.

2. Pad Selection: Use a medium-soft foam polishing pad or white wool pad to balance cutting power and finishing capability; avoid overly aggressive pads to prevent damage to marine coatings.

3. Application: Shake the container well before use. Apply 3–5 pea-sized dots of the compound onto the polishing pad, ensuring even distribution for consistent coverage across the surface.

4. Polishing:
Work in 40×40 cm sections to ensure thorough coverage and avoid drying of the compound before breakdown.

Rotary Polishers: Operate at 1,200–1,800 RPM with medium-light pressure, adjusting pressure as needed to remove imperfections.

DA Polishers: Operate at 2,000–4,500 OPM with light pressure, using slow, overlapping passes for uniform refinement.

5. Finishing: Continue polishing until the compound breaks down to a thin, transparent film and a smooth, high-clarity pre-finish is achieved. Wipe away any remaining residue with a clean, lint-free microfiber towel, using light buffing motions.

6. Next Step: Proceed to Step 3 (fine polishing / high-gloss finishing) for a flawless final shine, then apply a marine-grade wax, sealant, or ceramic coating to protect against marine elements (saltwater, UV rays, corrosion).

Important Notice

This product is designed exclusively for marine use as the Step 2 polishing compound in a three-step marine polishing system. It is not intended for heavy cutting (use Step 1 heavy-cut compound for severe imperfections). Before full-scale application, conduct a small-scale test on an inconspicuous area of the marine surface to confirm compatibility with the coating. Ensure all surfaces are fully cured before polishing. Store in a sealed container at the recommended temperature to maintain product performance. For professional marine detailing, boat maintenance, and manufacturing use only.
